What Witness touches and what it never does

Witness is a helper, not a bot. It reads the pages you already have open, counts your work and writes suggestions. You do the sending. Here is exactly what that means.

What Witness touches

The pages you open on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Messenger, LinkedIn and Meta Business Suite. The panel reads what is on your screen. It does not run on other sites.
The DMs you send. It counts that you sent a message and to which chat, so your numbers fill in by themselves.
Chats with people who are already your leads. When you send a message to a lead, it saves the words in that open chat to the lead. You can turn this off.
Your inbox list, at night. The nightly inbox run opens your inbox in a background tab, reads the chat list to see who is waiting on you, and closes the tab. It is on for Instagram to start, and you can turn it off.
Lists you ask it to read. When you press a button, it can read the people who liked or commented on a post, or the members list of a Facebook group, and scroll that list for you at a steady pace.
Post counts, on Instagram, when you ask. Sort feed asks Instagram for post counts the same way the Instagram website does: one request at a time, at least 2.5 seconds apart, at most 10 per run and 4 runs an hour. It stops and waits 30 minutes at the first sign Instagram wants it to slow down.
The message box, only when you press Insert. On Instagram and TikTok, Insert puts a line into the open message box, the same as a paste. You read it, change it and press Send yourself. On Facebook, Messenger, LinkedIn and Business Suite there is no Insert, only Copy.
A lead's public link, when you ask for an opener.It may read the public website or Instagram page in that lead's bio so the opener fits.
A screenshot, only when you press a button for an opener, a reply idea or a bug report. Chrome asks your OK before the extension can take screenshots at all.

What Witness never does

Never sends a message, and never presses Send or Enter for you.
Never types on its own. Text only goes in the message box when you press Insert.
Never likes, follows, friends, comments, posts or joins anything.
Never opens an unread chat, so nobody gets a "Seen" from Witness.
Never asks for your Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or LinkedIn password.
Never runs its panel on other websites or tracks the rest of your browsing.
Never sells your data or uses it for ads.

Witness is not made by, approved by or connected to Meta, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or LinkedIn. It does not use their official APIs. It works inside your own browser, on pages you are signed in to.

Questions

Can Witness get my account banned?

Witness never sends messages, follows, likes or does anything else for you. So it does not do the things platforms usually ban bots for. The tools that read lists or ask for counts go slowly and stop when a site pushes back. But we cannot promise what any platform will decide. Each one makes its own rules and can change them. You are responsible for following them, so keep your own sending at a normal, human pace.

Is Witness approved by Meta?

No. Witness is not part of Meta or any other platform, and it does not use an official API. It reads the pages you open in Chrome, the same pages you see.

Will my leads see that I read their message?

Not because of Witness. The nightly run never opens an unread chat. When you open a chat yourself, the site works as it always does.

What does my coach see?

Only what you choose to share: your numbers, or your numbers plus your lead chats with names and handles hidden. You can stop sharing any time. See the privacy policy for more.

How do I turn it all off?

You can turn off saving lead chats and the nightly run in the extension's settings. Removing the extension from Chrome stops everything right away.
